Tom proposed the following answer:
Ok, click on undo so that sda1 is back at the start of the drive.  Then
resize it down by another 3Gb.  Lets make sure this time.  That should
mean approx 10Gb between the end of sda1 and the end of the hard-drive?
So now when you drag sda1 as farright as it will go there's easily
enough space at the front of the drive?
