You're using synaptic to get the non-free-adobe plugin? That should be fine.  If you go to the "Places" menu and open "Documents" then the statusbar at the bottom should show how much free space there is in the LiveCd session :)  Anything you save in there will only be temporary unless saved to your Usb.  I have to sleep but you'll be fine :)
