Title:
apt URLs in Firefox don't work
Status in Ubuntu Kylin:
New
Bug description:
The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu
Description: UbuntuKylin Saucy Salamander (development branch)
Release: 13.10
1. start firefox
2. open a page with apt url. for example http://apt.marcoceppi.com/p/goldendict
3. click the link
What you expected to happen
ubuntu software center window shows up with infos of that software, by clicking install, you can install it.
What happened instead
a firefox window shows up asking for app to open that link.
when try to select a application by clicking choose, a new window shows asking for binary file to handle that link. which is very user-unfriendly for staters.
since ubuntu software is installed by default, it should be set as
default app for handling apt url for firefox and/or other preinstalled
browsers.
