Bug description:
  [Impact]
  # plymouth message --text="Hello world"

  doesn't work with Ubuntu Kylin plymouth theme, while it does work with
  the original Ubuntu's plymouth.

  [Test case]
  # plymouth message --text="Hello world"

  shall work with Ubuntu Kylin plymounth theme

  [Regression potential]
  None as it's largely about adding missing functions without touching existing stuff.
