Title:
pavucontrol's window width depends on stream names, may get very wide

Status in “pavucontrol” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pavucontrol

Pavucontrol's window is determined dynamically to accomodate all
controls, including stream labels. That can lead to window (much)
larger that screen width, which makes it difficult to manipulate the
controls (moving window left and right with alt-drag and such). The
attached screenshot shows this -- it was combined from 2 screenshots,
as the pertion beyond screen was not shot.

Proper solution would be to limit the width somehow and ellipsisize
  the stream name.

  Running up-to-date karmic; pavucontrol 0.9.8+git20090701-0ubuntu2.
