[Bug 1313971] Re: help menu items results in GLib critical error

Reproduced on Ubuntu 14.04, with Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939 (Jan 22 2014).
Inkscape and Firefox were on the same workspace. The error popped up while the website appeared as a new tab in firefox.
I'm not sure whether it is somehow relevant for "sys_page_size", I have swap disabled (due SSD and plenty of RAM).

Title:
help menu items results in GLib critical error

Status in Inkscape: A Vector Drawing Tool:
  New
Status in “inkscape” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Inkscape version: Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939 (Apr 21 2014)
  OS - ArchLinux: : 3.14.1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon Apr 14 21:01:08 CEST 2014 i686 GNU/Linux
  Window Manger: WindowMaker

  Launch inkscape
  Click Help menu
select FAQ (or "Ask a question", or "Keys and Mouse Reference")

Inkscape pops up a window stating:

Inkscape has received additional data from the script executed.
The script did not return an error, but this may indicate the results
  will not be as expected.

The text field in the window states:

      (process:3296): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion
  'sys_page_size == 0' failed

The help information does actually appear in my browser (Firefox), but
since my browser window was off in a different workspace, I didn't
  notice it right away.
