[Bug 641947] Re: Can't open a file located on a Samba share

Thank you for your patience. I can confirm that there does not appear to
be a way to open a file that is on a share that has been accessed from
the file manager (in this case, on Lubuntu, from PCManFM) - but this
might be more like a feature request rather than a bug.

The other error mentioned in the original bug report no longer seem to
be current bugs. I can successfully drag a file from the file manager to
Audacious and have it play without issue.

If you are still experiencing this issue on a currently supported
release, can you please add a new comment here? Thank you.

Title:
Can't open a file located on a Samba share

Status in audacious package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: audacious

I can only open a file located on a Samba share right-clicking the file and selecting "Open with » Audacious".
If I launch Audacious and go through "File » Play file", "File » Play location", "File » Add files", or "File » Add Internet Address", I can't open a file located on a Samba share. Also, I can't drag and drop a file located on a Samba share to the Audacious playlist (nothing happens). I'm using Audacious 2.3 and Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, kernel 2.6.32-25
  Thanks.
