Also, I want to suggest you to try using ~/.local/share/color/icc
instead of ~/.color/icc and maybe take a look at
http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Getting_and_installing_ICC_profiles

  Can't load custom ICC files

Status in scribus package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Hi,

  I tried to use custom color profiles with scribes and put them into
  ~/.color/icc.  strace shows that scribus actually opens the profiles,
  but they are not offered under any of the profile selection menus, esp
  in  the document settings under color management.  I'll attach two of
  these profiles for testing.

  Interestingly in the selection menu for RGB images there are three
  profiles with names consisting just of random characters.
