Whenever you post a bug report, it is helpful to link to any relevant reports. I tracked down the LyX bug report that you made:

two days later (not bad, I would say, considering we're all volunteers
here). However, you did not follow up with a response to the question. I
have checked our mailing lists (lyx-users and lyx-devel) and do not find
any email from you. Even if there is an email, sometimes you have to
bump it up. It is true that emails sometimes fall through the cracks.
That's just how it works on any mailing list you will find.

Thanks for your feedback and help in improving LyX. I hope that with
your help we can fix the bug.

Title:
  Lyx does not work properly with Springer's svmono book class.

Status in lyx package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  I am writing book with Springer. I have a problem trying to use svmono with Lyx that I think could easily be fixed by the LyX developers. I have asked them, but I have not gotten any response. Maybe if someone from Springer contacted them they might take the request seriously. The problem is this: 
  In the LyX/Latex source code (not the typeset version) the section numbering does not update with the chapter. For example you get

  Chapter 1
  	Section 1
  	Section 2
  Chapter 2
  	Section 3
  	Section 4
  …etc

  I would like to have

  Chapter 1
  	Section 1
  	Section 2
  Chapter 2
  	Section 1
  	Section 2
  …etc
  -------- OR --------
  Chapter 1
  	Section 1.1
  	Section 1.2

  2Chapter 2
  	Section 2.1
  	Section 2.2
  …etc
