This is what musescore prints on the terminal, with no gawk installed:
/usr/bin/musescore: 11: /usr/bin/musescore: gawk: not found

  musescore depends on gawk

Bug description:
  After "apt-get install musescore", musescore couldn't play sound.  I
  had to do "apt-get install gawk" to fix this.  This is Ubuntu 14.04.3.
