[Bug 995914] Re: blender cannot find 'scripts/modules' and No menu labels were shown in Blender

your log cleary shows that blender cannot find 'scripts/modules'.
when there is no 'scripts/modules', no menus are shown.
I'm not sure why blender cannot find it, but BLENDER_SYSTEM_BASE environment variable may be useful for workaround.

** Changed in: blender (Ubuntu)

Title:
blender cannot find 'scripts/modules' and No menu labels were shown in
  Blender

Status in blender package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I have NVidia Ion 2 chipset and with it blender have some strange looks: there is no menu labels (see screenshot).
The nvidia driver has version 295.40-0ubuntu.
Ubuntu version is 12.04, but in 11.10 was the same.
And without propritary nvidia driver I also have the same looking of blender.
`blender -noglsl` also haven't affect. Besides this blender works fine and even spacebar menu works fine.

In the attached archive I also have glxinfo output and blender stdout
  and stderr output.
