I have just observed this happening in YouTube on Firefox as well. The
browser debugger says the missing fonts are indeed Roboto. Looks as
though it may be a problem with the Roboto font as packaged.

  Unable to render Roboto font needed for Guitarix UI

Status in guitarix package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  I get tofu for every glyph written on modules in the rack, and lots of
  Pango warnings in the console about not being able to render Roboto.
  See the attached screenshot.

  This is on a fresh-ish install of 16.10.
