In inkscape 0.92, the problem is still present.

It is easy to work-around this problem manually: Save document, open in
the text editor, and the carefully replace affected ocurrences of ">f"
by ">ﬁ", and repeat the same for ﬀ, ﬂ, ﬃ, ﬄ.
