[Bug 1742961] [NEW] Inkscape crashes when opening a pdf file

Public bug reported:

I'm trying to open a PDF file (https://arxiv.org/pdf/1605.07678) but
Inkscape 0.92 crashed with a "Inkscape encountered an internal error and
will now close" message. The same was happening with Inkscape 0.91.

Ubuntu: 16.04
updates: all
Inkscape versions:0.91 and 0.92
Inkspace PPA used to instal 0.92: ppa:inkscape.dev/stable
How to reproduce bug: Open Inkscape and select the PDF file.

I've attached the strace log:

# inkscape -f Canziani\,\ Paszke\,\ Culurciello\ -\ 2016\ -\ An\
Analysis\ of\ Deep\ Neural\ Network\ Models\ for\ Practical\
Applications.pdf &> inkscape.trace.txt

** Affects: inkscape (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Tags: inkscape

** Attachment added: "inkscape.trace.txt"
