I've had this same problem. Saving through the menu and restarting fixes
it for me, but when it happens every few minutes, even that becomes
annoying.

  It doesn't matter if it's for typing inside a box text, to change
  values in numeric boxes (for width, etc) or to write a filename when
  saving.
