Title:
No way to play Line-in over speakers with pavucontrol alone
Status in pavucontrol package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: pavucontrol
Pavucontrol version: 0.9.8
Ubuntu version: 9.10
Hi,
I have two computers on my desk, computer A and B.
But i have only one set of speakers connected to computer A.
To play audio from computer B on the same speakers i connected it to the line-in of computer A.
In Ubuntu 9.04 it was really easy to get this to work, just opened the channel at volume control.
On 9.10 its more difficult then it looks.
When i open the input channel at pavucontrol and turned mute off i still hear no audio from computer B.
What i found out (after a while of google'ing) is that you actually need to install gnome-alsamixer and open the channel there too before it works.
Could this get more user friendly so gnome-alsamixer isnt needed anymore ?
Is this a bug in povamonitor, or the way the fresh install of Ubuntu is set up ?
