Title:
  [Maverick A1] m-audio audiophile 2496 (ICE1712) does not work with
  pulseaudio in ubuntustudio maverick

  pavucontrol doesn't show an "analog estereo" profile in the
  Configuration tab (only digital profiles).

  The workaround that works for me is edit:

  /usr/share/alsa/cards/ICE1712.conf

  and add these new lines:

           slave.format S32_LE
          slave.channels 10

  like this:

  ICE1712.pcm.front.0 {
          @args [ CARD ]
          @args.CARD {
                  type string
          }
          type route
          ttable.0.0 1
          ttable.1.1 1
          slave.pcm {
                  type hw
                  card $CARD
          }
          slave.format S32_LE
          slave.channels 10
  }
