Title:
U/Studio "Forget Settings" Bug, PLUS "Multiple Sound Setting Records"
Bug
Status in Ubuntu Studio:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
1) "Forget Settings" BUGS
In my new installation of U/Studio 10.10, I notice that the mixers cannot
remember all of their settings during reboot - and what they do recall
seems to vary.
For example QAMixer will not remember that I am using a Dell
soundcard, etc etc, from boot to boot.
Also when one of the various systems interruptions occurs (see my
other Bug Reports), the sound settings will revert to some earlier version,
(even though no SAVE settings command is present or adhered too,
to give me the OPtion to Save ANY settings, definitely.
It seems to record some settings and not others - - -
And sometimes in QAMixer, when varying teh 3-D control,
this will lock up the whole QAMixer App - - -

2) "Multiple Sound Setting Records" Bug
This is a set of related Bugs, to 1) above.
Throughout the system there are settings. Few of these will
talk to one another. For example, If I use two mixers they will
not track each other as I move teh sliders in one.
Another example - If I allocate a Hotkey for Volume control, this control works,
but does not manipulate the settings in any mixer window,
that I have found so far.
Suddenly I find later that settings seem to be getting set randomly, NOT
definitely.
This is frustrating.
SUGGESTION
Suggestion is that Studio Controls has extra lines in it which can specify some settings repository
as Master, for the numerous system variables, e.g. MASTER volume control, etc, etc. Then the
various Apps, including the likes of various mixers, could then be programmed to refer to common Variables
stored IN ONE PLACE somewhere, so that the whole system is actually coherent.
Thanks
Ken
