[Bug 1873592] Re: GIMP icons are tool small on HiDPI display

No thoughts? Or is it just me having this problem?
The problem actually existed all the time since GIMP's HiDPI support was added, also in previous Ubuntu versions.

Title:
GIMP icons are tool small on HiDPI display

Status in gimp package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
GIMP has introduced HiDPI support a while back and provides Icon Theme
  in the settings.

  I have a 4K display set to 2x scaling.

GIMP starts by default with tiny icons (Guess icon size from
  resolution in Preferences).

If I change this to "Use icon size from the theme" - the icons get a
bit large, but still too small to see properly.

Then, there is "Custom icon size" settings with available choices of Small/Medium/Large/Huge.
From these choices, Medium get the largest (but still small icons), where both Large and Huge are the same as Small.

Is the problem with Large/Huge icons not actually shipped?
