Title:
m-audio audiophile 2496 xruns at low latency
Status in ardour package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ardour
currently using Ubuntu Studio 9.10 - 64 version
Ardour version 2.82
Jack version 0.3.4
Soundcard M-audio audiophile 2496 (ICE1712 chip)
Must set latency above 23 ms to record without xruns
With Ubuntu Studio 7.xx on the same computer & same hard
drive(different partition) with the same audio settings I can set
latency to 5.8 ms with no problems.
I had heard that there is a problem with the kernel & the ICE1712 chip in 9.10 in full duplex mode.
I even tried deleting pulse audio & it had no effect either.
My computer specs are Athlon64 3700+ , 2 gig ram , 2 - 160 gig ATA HD's & 1- 250 gig SATA drive
Both versions of U-Studio are on one of the 160 gig ATA drives.
