I'm  sorry but I no longer have a ubuntu 20.4 platform for testing.

This big report is a year old...

I guess if you can't reproduce it, just forget it.

I was only trying to help by reporting the issue.

  testing Xubnut 20.04, I tried to use the
  inkscape/extensions/render/gear and it fails.
