[Bug 642465] Re: Puredata outputs Very bad sound when using ALSA backend

11 years later: is this still an issue?

- is your soundcard supporting full-duplex at all?
- are other applications able to play back sound properly?
- have you tried adjusting the buffersize?
- have you tried using JACK instead of ALSA (or the other way round)?

Title:
Puredata outputs Very bad sound when using ALSA backend

Status in puredata package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: puredata

Runnig Puredata with the alsa backend outputs very bad sound. Also it only outputs sound if the sound input is disconnected.
This is a link for the resulting sound. This is suposed to be continuous sound changing frequency overtime, the results its a bunch of crackles.
