Message #10381
[Bug 923501] Re: Puredata can't load Gem in Ubuntu 11.10
this is (well: was) really a problem with Gem, rather than Pd.
Since then, Gem has changed a lot (and now dynamically loads
ImageMagick, so even if there was a problem as described, Gem would
still be able to load).
In any case, the problem seems to have been solved since a couple of
years (and Impish is definitely not affected)
** Package changed: puredata (Ubuntu) => gem (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: gem (Ubuntu)
Status: Confirmed => Fix Released

I use Ubuntu 64 bit on a pc with intel i7.
Until yesterday Ubuntu 10.10 + Puredata 0.43.0-4+ Gem 0.92.3-2 worked well.
Today i upgrade Ubuntu to 11.4 and 11.10.
When i open Puredata, it say:
" usr/lib/pd/extra/Gem/Gem.pd_linux: /usr/lib/pd/extra/Gem/Gem.pd_linux: undefined symbol: _ZN6Magick5ImageC1EmmRKSsN10MagickCore11StorageTypeEPKv "
