[Bug 1993471] [NEW] lubuntu kinetic - update using existing partition (no format) failed

lubuntu kinetic QA-test install
- this error was unexpected; I've performed it a few times on this box
(11th October I think the last time) and expected it to be perfect
- errors I saw (4.15 kernel? 5.11 kernel?) make no sense to me; install
was 22.04 as I recall; not earlier; so possibly I selected wrong
partition(s) & thus my mistake??
I'll review this shortly; but I expect (hope?) to change status to
invalid (ie. user mistake in selecting partition(s) on box caused this
error
filing to record some detail before I reboot & explore
(this box has had install failures before with calamares; very often in
fact - but the error messages I saw did NOT resemble any I'd expect;
usually it's disk partitioning issues)
