Message #12534
[Bug 2098008] [NEW] Entries in the third-party apps section get noticeably stretched on tall screens
Public bug reported:
OS: Kubuntu 24.04.2 RC
Hardware: Kubuntu Focus Ir16, 2560x1600 screen (can also reproduce in QEMU with a virtual display with a nearly 4k resolution)
Steps to reproduce with QEMU:
1. Make a virtual disk: `qemu-img create -f qcow2 test.qcow2 20G`
2. Boot the ISO with `qemu-system-x86_64 -cdrom noble-desktop-amd64.iso -m 2G -smp 2 -enable-kvm -drive file=./test.qcow2,if=virtio,format=qcow2 -vga virtio`
3. While the ISO is still booting up, maximize the QEMU window on a large physical display
4. When the installer prompt screen appears, ensure it appears to be using a high resolution and occupies the entirety of the QEMU window
5. Click "Install Kubuntu"
6. Proceed through the installer until you get to the "Customize" screen
Expected result: Screen doesn't have any abnormally "stretched" elements
Actual result: The list of third-party apps has way too much spacing
between items and individual "parts" of items, resulting in it looking
weird
This is not a regression from 24.04.1, I can reproduce it there too.
** Affects: calamares-settings-ubuntu (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
