Ahhh.. i think i see the error. In the rules-file the mkdir makes the
directory in the /debian folder when it should be making it in the /font
folder. So if you could change that it should build properly.

Bug description:
  The cantarell font is not available to be used in any program or part
  of the system after installing the package.  This is because the font
  is installed to /ttf, and it should be installed to
  /usr/share/fonts/ttf
