Title:
Bluetooth icon disappears
Status in Bluetooth Menu:
New
Bug description:
I overview this behavior for the last several releases of Ubuntu and I
think it's clearly a usability issue.
1. Bluetooth state is not preserved between reboots/shutdowns.
IMO it should - if I turned it off, I don't want to be on every time I start my laptop.
I understand that this issue is related to bluetooth daemon itself, but it also has impact on the issue #2.
2. If I turn bluetooth off, the icon is disappeared from the menu.
To activate the bluetooth again, you need to find "bluetooth" app (actually it points to bluetooth settings) from the menu and turn it from it.
Correct functionality should be as follows:
1. Bluetooth icon should be always visible until bluetooth adapter is presented.
(The logic behind adapter detection might be done in terms of bluetoothd service).
2. It should be possible to turn off and on bluetooth service from the applet menu.
