Re: Integrating Application Search & Install
If the goal of all this is to directly connect the user quickly with
their files and programs, then adding programs that are not currently
installed will only add clutter and messiness, making it more
difficult to find their files and programs, and effectively making
sure that no one will use this. If you're stuck on the idea of using
this little search programs that are not installed, then add a button
on the bottom that says "search ubuntu software center" and have
clicking on it open the software center with the term in the search
box. But don't include apps that aren't installed, that will only slow
it down and make it messy.
