Proxy in the Networking Interface

Hi Matthew,
I was looking through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Networking and I was
wondering if there should be a section added to show and maintain the
global proxy settings.

My thoughts were to show a Proxy section with an On-Off button with a
list of available proxies lists below with a tick to indicate which
proxy is in use. From a usability perspective it would be useful to
associate a proxy with a connection, e.g. Wireless-Ubuntu-Battersea will
use Home, Wireless-Ubuntu will use work. WIred connections would be
slightly more complex to auto choose but it may be possible to identify
a wired network by its gateway or dns servers. Proxies would then be
set-up via the network settings section. Also when connecting to a new
wireless network you could be prompted to add a new proxy or specify
that this connection does not require a proxy.
