Now add a11y ideas:
pressing or holding ALT expands the menu(bar).
On the long run, app developers will notice that it is sufficient to put the
most frequently used functions into the top level menu that opens upon ALT
or clicking the app name, the less frequently needed options will then still
have their respective positions in submenus or gconf..
