CTRL is better than ALT, because:
Super is expressive and cryptic at the same time.
You hit Super once and it's expressive.
You hold Super, then hit a key and it's cryptic.
ALT deals with cut, paste, find expressively.
CTRL already deals with cut, paste and find cryptically.
