Re: [Ayatana-dev] How useful are debugging debs for Unity?

If ubuntu intends to provide an App store(almost but not quite (TM))
then debugging packages will become essential.

It would be inconceivable for an app developer to be completely unable
to debug their own work as they're missing debugging symbols. Why would
it "give the consumer a feeling of uncompletedness" I feel it would be
more like completeness, as in the platform is ready for software
development.

Either way debugging packages are optional, maybe what *could* be done
is to shift them into a debugging repo in a similar way to 'proposed',
and have those debugging repos disabled by default. Even better would be
to do "apt-get debug package" and have a deb-dbg repo in the
sources.list.
