The problem is occurring because you have vm-reply-include-presentation
set to t, and that case of the code is not working correctly.

If you set vm-reply-include-presentation to nil (which is the default),
you will be ok for now.

hi, when I reply to the message below, my entire inbox is quoted in the reply.
 that's over 15Mb.  this seems to happen consistently in different emacs
sessions.  I don't see anything wrong with this message, but perhaps you will...
 cvs emacs 23.1.50, using the latest trunk.  thanks...  E
