[Bug 502371] Re: digest viewing shows all messages instead of just one at a time

Thanks for reporting, John. I almost forgot about this annoying bug.
It used to be really bad with version 8.1 a year or two ago, but it has
been mostly resolved. But that there are a few instances left. It
happens not only with digests but other kinds of folders too. Most
users don't see it because,if you have summary generated at start up,
that process covers up the problem.

I will see if I can handle on the problem.

Cheers,
Uday

Status in VM (View Mail) for Emacs: Confirmed

Bug description:
vm-8.1.0-beta

I can scroll through all the contents of _all_ the messages in the digest by using vm-scroll-forward on the first message.

How to reproduce:

View a mime digest (like one that comes from mailman) without navigating from the first message and with all the messages still marked as 'new' (N). Using vm-scroll-forward (space bar) on the first message scrolls through all the messages in the digest (and also does not remove the 'new' mark).

It seems that the setting of vm-preview-lines is irrelevant.

This did not happen in 8.0.14

Navigating to a different message and then back (even without clearing the 'new' mark on any messages) gives the behavior I am used to seeing (where you can only see the contents of a single message).
