I see some merge conflicts in this diff down there. Might want to fix those before this goes to trunk. 

How do you want to move forward with this? From experience I can tell you that at most 2 or 3 people will test your changes when they are in a separate branch, but you will get a lot of feedback when it hits trunk and you advertise it a bit (i.e. on the forums or with a news post).
