I'm not sure we can nor really should test this use case.
1. For the latest 2 or 3 versions, Ubuntu had an AMD driver long before it was released to the public, and the versions released by AMD in between wouldn't work with the too new linux/X server in Ubuntu.
2. After an Ubuntu release, it's really up to AMD to make sure the driver packages they release work with it.
