[Bug 1204939] Re: Unity doesn't start on ATI test machine (fails to find GL acceleration)

** Description changed:

- even restarting lightdm, we get 100% unity-system-compositor/xorg not
- starting (we do have xorg with the xmir patch installed and the ati
- version, same than the staging ppa):
+ The log files are deceptive - the error comes from the failsafe X
+ session which is started for some reason.

- dmesg http://paste.ubuntu.com/5911197/ , Xorg.log
- http://paste.ubuntu.com/5911199/
+ LightDM, unity-system-compositor, and XMir all come up fine and have no
+ unexpected log output.

- From IRC:
- mlankhorst | [ 2417.963] (EE) RADEON(0): [drm] failed to set drm interface version.
- mlankhorst | shouldn't do that on xmir
-      tvoss | mlankhorst, what means shouldn't to that on xmir?
- mlankhorst | the call that's failing shouldn't have been called at all..
-      tvoss | mlankhorst, ah, thanks :)
+ gnome-session.log, however, has
