Qt 4 is being released today. I hope it will be availlable soon in most 
linux distribs.
I also hope that the transition will go smoothly as long as all distribs 
does not provide it, because it seems that the code is not fully 
compatible with previous version of QT.

The good news is that an open source version is now available under 
windows, which will facilitate our work if we decide to port Yade under 
windows;
