have a look at that line

/usr/include/python2.4/object.h:343

And if necessary, run compilation with -fsave-temps and have a look at the preprocessed code. This is typically that an empty macro is accidentally an identifier in the header. I had this with qt3 & python, where qt3 #defined slot, which was a variable name inside python. Qt3 sucks. Send me that file 
/usr/include/python2.4/object.h if in doubt.
