Do you know them? If not, it would be good to contact them and see what they think of integrating this in trunk, indeed.
Should I (I know INPG as conventions and student exchanges with McGill btw)?

The other question is : do you understand what they did? After 10 mins of reading, I still don't get it, too tired maybe.

Did you see one of the authors in the mailing list before? I don't remember these names.
