Sorry, I did not think about those. That is in 
debian/postinst-templates, we install manpage redirects which use the 
copressed version, but in reality they are not compressed. Or we could 
compress the manual pages by hand in debian/rules (uzing something like 
(guessing) gzip debian/yade-${SUFFIX}/usr/share/man/man1/yade-0.60.1 and 
so on). I think to fix the postinst template is easier.
