This is another independant bug. François observed the same problem on Xfce/ubuntu 14.04.
I did not find any problem for selecting yet (12.04), only the blincking issue.

  impossible to unselect bodies - blincking forever

  New

Bug description:
  shift+click selects correctly, but after that there is no way to unselect. We can only select another body.
  Opening the inspector also triggers this blincking "feature".
