Re: Install YADE on-64bit CentOS 5

HI,

The same problem happened to me when I install YADE on my dual CPU 64 bit with Kubuntu 7.04. It maybe caused by the missing of QGLviewer library. What I did to sovle that problem were:

1. Compile qt package with OPENGL option enable. I dont know why the OpenGL option was disable when we compile qt in the 64bit CPU.
2. Download a new version of QGLViewer from its website. Read its install file and install manually by run command make inside the QGLViewer directory of what you downloaded.
3. Install YADE

It should work now.

Goold luck

Subject: [Yade-users] Install YADE on-64bit CentOS 5

Hi, all:

I am working on installation of YADE-0.11.1 on a dual CPU 64bit dell machine
but facing some problems of scons basic check, the error message is shown
below:

fchen@localhost yade-0.11.1]$ scons PREFIX=/home/fchen/YADE optimize=1
scons: Reading SConscript files ...
Yade version is `0.11.1', installed files will be suffixed with `-0.11.1'.
All intermediary files will be in `/home/fchen/downloads/build-0.11.1'.

One of the essential libraries above was not found, unable to continue.

Check `/home/fchen/downloads/build-0.11.1/config.log' for possible causes,
note that there are options that you may need to customize:

PREFIX: /home/fchen/YADE [/usr/local] (Install path prefix)
runtimePREFIX: /home/fchen/YADE [$PREFIX] (Runtime path prefix; DO NOT USE,
inteded for packaging only.)

still be overwritten)

instructions) (yes|no))

attempted))

tuning like -march=pentium4.)

kernel) (yes|no))
useMiniWm3: True [1] (use local miniWm3 library instead of Wm3Foundation
(yes|no))

//----------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems that the biggest problem is that scons cannot find my qt-mt and
QGLViewer, but it is cleat that qt-mt is in folder /usr/lib/qt-3.3/lib and
QGLViewer is in folder /usr/lib/ and /usr/include

Did I messed anything up?

Thanks a lot!

With best regards,

Feng, Chen
