Try to simulate fractured rock mass by introducing a smooth contact logic for discontinuities (see attached pictures). The fracture network can be imported from a triangulated mesh resulting from a Discrete Fracture Network modeler (for example SiroModel: http://www.sirovision.com/text/SIROMODEL.htm). Still under development, with the idea to introduce hydro-mechanical coupling afterward (...).
