Re: how to test the shear stiffness?

Hello Liqing

(Use better https://answers.launchpad.net/yade to ask questions, and please register at https://www.ohloh.net/p/yade/stacks?page=1 :-) )

If you mean you want test your contact law to check if you get well the value of stiffness you set, you can have a look at examples/normalInelasticity-test.py, which defines two spheres whith one moving with respect to the other. Value of tangential force is plotted at one time, and you can check stiffness value by this way. You could define a similar script to perform the checks you want.

But be aware that a special class was defined to perform such tests in fact : https://www.yade-dem.org/doc/yade.wrapper.html#yade.wrapper.LawTester (but personly I did not use it)

Dear All,

When you give a new shear stiffness, usually, how to test the shear stiffness working well or not? If you did this test before, could you please send me the model? Thank you!
