Henry is still having a problem:
Dear Luc, 
   Thanks for your help. Yes, I have a look at the papers you mentionned. However, my question is how can I define the contact law on the particles between two particles arround the joint?
  For example, Fig.6(a) in Ref [1],  how can i identify the particles arround the joint and aplly the joint contact law on these particles?
