Hi,
This normal stiffness kn is a spring stiffness and thus in [force /
length] units (e.g. N/m), which actually is exactly the same as [stress
* length] (e.g. Pa.m)
For the 1st part of the question, I do not know a name for such a
formula k = E * L relating the structure spring-like stiffness with the
material stiffness (Young modulus) and the structure length L, but it
should be quite easy to demonstrate...
