[Question #631829]: How to get network information from packing?

New question #631829 on Yade:
https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/631829

Dear Yade team,

I am on a team that works with particle compression and we are able to generate our on packing . The group would like to extent our studies to fluid flow in porous media.

In the paper Pore-scale modeling of viscous flow and induced forces in dense sphere packings the author says that the network is defined by using Yade and CGAL. For instance, the group has no interest in reinventing the wheel and create our own tesselation to find the Voronoi cells. It would be great if the Yade team could give us a hand.

Suppose we have a file that contains the packing on the following format:

<Particle ID>, <Particle Position X>, <Particle Position Y>, <Particle Position Z>, <Particle Radius>

How easy would be to retrieve relevant information about the network like pores (nodes) position and pores connectivity? After check the documentation I could not find an explicit way to do that.

Sincerely,

Pedro Cidreiro
