[Question #632453]: Growing radius in randomDensePack

New question #632453 on Yade:
https://answers.launchpad.net/yade/+question/632453

Hi,

I am a new user of Yade. Recently, I tried to simulate breakage of rock particles. RandomDensePack was used to generate a complex rock particle, but in this package, some small-radius particle stand alone and without contacting with its adjacent particles, this leads to many voids in this package.

I have a new idea to solve this problem, we can grow those small-radius particles until they contact with other particles. But I can not determine the multiplier in utils.growParticle(). A small multiplier have no any effects, but a bigger multiplier will give an overlap in adjacent particles.
In a word, I want to determine the multiplier in growParticle() to generate a dense package, but this multiplier varying depends on the different distances between adjacent particles.

Can anyone give me a hint?

Thanks in advance.

Xavier
