[Question #632475]: How to measure the void ratio for a select range?

Dear all:
I am really new user in Yade. I have a confused point in measurinig the void ratio.
If I have selected the same radius of ball and packing them as Circle packing with 0 gap, how can I measure the porosity in different depth with different range after the unbalanced force reached the limit value during the consolidation process ? 
I think maybe I can select the range by the coordinate of the center of several balls. However, I am not sure how to realize that and measure the void ratio?
